Dyala Kasim earned her BA in English and Communication from Villanova University and MA in American Studies from Columbia University. She is currently a doctoral candidate in the English Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a teaching assistant in the American Studies Department at Barnard College. Dyala's research focuses on contemporary Arab American fiction – specifically the Arab American novel – cultural identity, community and homeland.
