About me
Anvi is a second-year Master of Architecture candidate at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto, where she also completed her undergraduate degree in Architectural Design, graduating with the Academic Merit Award in 2022. Her undergraduate thesis, "The Politics of Land, Loss, and Location: Building in the Wake of Trauma and Gender-Based Disparities", examined kitchens as gendered spaces within the Kutupalong Refugee Camp in Bangladesh, proposing shared kitchens as social infrastructure to optimise resources and create spaces for refuge, community-building, and empowerment for displaced women. She was also recently awarded the John and Myrna Daniels Foundation Opportunity Award. Anvi’s current research continues her commitment to integrating pluralistic perspectives into Western feminist theory and examines the intersections of politics and architecture within marginalised communities.
